Omore is committed to protecting children's privacy. This app is designed for children under 13, and we comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

Parents: We require verifiable parental consent before collecting any personal information from your child. You have the right to review, modify, and delete your child's data at any time through the Parental Portal.

What Information We Collect From Children

Personal Information:

  • Username (display name chosen by child)
  • Age range
  • Interests and hobbies
  • Device identifier (for app functionality)

Activity Information:

  • Stories and creative content created by your child
  • Messages exchanged with approved friends
  • Friend connections and interactions
  • Usage statistics (time spent, features used)

Parent Information:

  • Google account or email address (for authentication)
  • Email address (for notifications and reports)
  • Device information

How We Use This Information

  • Provide core app functionality (creative writing, friend interactions)
  • Enable parent monitoring through the Parental Portal
  • Send activity reports and safety notifications to parents
  • Improve app features and user experience
  • Ensure child safety through content moderation
  • Prevent misuse and enforce community guidelines

We do NOT:

  • Sell or rent children's personal information to third parties
  • Display targeted advertising to children
  • Share children's data with third parties except as required by law
  • Condition participation on providing more information than necessary

Content Ownership and Intellectual Property

Co-Ownership Agreement

By using Kokoverse, you agree that all creative content (stories, artwork, messages, and other creations) made on the platform is co-owned by both you (the user) and Kokoverse.

What This Means:

  • You retain ownership: Your child retains full ownership rights to all content they create on Kokoverse.
  • Platform co-ownership: Kokoverse also obtains co-ownership rights to use this content for platform purposes.
  • Publication rights: Kokoverse may publish, display, or distribute your child's creations outside of the Kokoverse platform (e.g., in books, educational materials, promotional content, social media, marketing).
  • Attribution: When your child's content is used outside the platform, we will credit them appropriately (using their chosen display name or as requested).
  • No compensation obligation: Use of content by Kokoverse does not require financial compensation, though we may choose to provide recognition or rewards at our discretion.

Examples of Platform Use:

  • Publishing selected stories in Kokoverse-branded books or collections
  • Featuring creative work in promotional materials and advertisements
  • Showcasing examples of user creativity on our website and social media
  • Using content for educational purposes or case studies
  • Including work in press releases, presentations, or investor materials

Your Rights:

  • Continue to use your work: You may continue to use, share, and publish your child's creations elsewhere.
  • Request removal: You may request removal of specific content from the platform at any time (see Settings > Data Management).
  • Opt-out of external use: Contact support@omore.app to request that your child's content not be used in external publications (though it may still appear within the app).
  • Delete content: Parents can delete their child's content at any time through the Parental Portal.

⚠️ Important: Parental Consent Required

By creating a child profile and allowing your child to use Kokoverse, you (the parent/guardian) consent to this co-ownership arrangement on behalf of your child.

If you do not agree to these terms, please do not allow your child to use the platform, or contact us at support@omore.app to discuss alternative arrangements.

✓ Content Safety & Moderation

We take care to ensure that only age-appropriate, high-quality content is selected for external use. All content undergoes review and moderation before being featured outside the platform.

Your Parental Rights Under COPPA

As a parent, you have the following rights regarding your child's information:

1. Right to Review

View all personal information collected from your child through the Parental Portal dashboard.

2. Right to Delete

Request deletion of your child's personal information at any time. Go to Settings > Data Management > Delete Account.

3. Right to Control

Refuse further collection or use of your child's information by revoking consent. Go to Settings > Revoke Consent.

4. Right to Export

Download a copy of all your child's data in machine-readable format. Go to Settings > Export Data.

5. Right to Control Social Features

Block specific friends, approve friend requests, and manage all social interactions through the Friends page.

How We Protect Your Child's Data

  • Industry-standard encryption for data in transit and at rest
  • Secure Firebase infrastructure with strict access controls
  • Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
  • Employee training on children's privacy best practices
  • Content moderation to prevent inappropriate interactions
  • Parental approval required for all friend connections (if enabled)

Data Retention and Deletion

Active Accounts: We retain your child's data for as long as the account is active and you provide consent.

Account Deletion: When you request deletion, we permanently remove all personal information within 30 days, except where required by law.

Consent Revocation: If you revoke consent, we stop collecting data immediately and schedule permanent deletion after a 30-day grace period.

Inactive Accounts: Accounts inactive for 2+ years will receive a warning before automatic deletion.

Third-Party Services

Omore uses the following third-party services that may process children's data:

  • Firebase (Google): Cloud database and authentication, including Google Sign-In (COPPA-compliant)

All third-party services are COPPA-compliant and bound by data processing agreements.
